The Flip Flop Design Shop was founded by Trudy Nicolay-Deutz and Nora Kim, both natives of Northern California. 

The Flip Flop Design Shop idea grew from a pair of white flip flops with a rhinestone accessory purchased at a popular retail store.  The buyer liked the style, but thought they would look good, maybe even better, in orange.  And, although the accessory was nice, it would have been more eye-catching if it were bigger.  And wouldn't it be great if it came in pink, to match a particular outfit!

That shopping experience got Nora and Trudy thinking about the “serious-fun” flip flops offer.  Why not offer flip flop buyers chic, fashionable and fabulous choices when it came to the design component?  Why not give the buyer the power to control the design?  The two women immediately believed in the concept and started experimenting with all types of flips flops and embellishments.  Some ideas worked.  Some didn’t.  All efforts, however, led them to the creation of The Flip Flop Design Shop.

Trudy and Nora are proud to have created an online retail store specializing in truly customizable flip flops.  It’s never been easier or more fun to design a fashion statement that’s truly your own.
